Overview
Hooks beach is a small calm, picturesque beach, you can get some amazing photos and views of the Waiheke sunsets from here.
It is quite a tidal mudflat beach and also can be prone to having sea lice, It is possible to swim during high tide, but water can be very shallow.
Hooks Beach can be accessed via Mitchell road, you will come across a set of steps leading to the beach, Their used a path to access from Hooks lane but that has now been made private.

Coming from either direction Ostend or Oneroa, you will find a small unsealed road called Mitchell road at the end you will come across a small area for parking and a staircase leading you down to the beach. please be mindful of near by driveways with were you park.

Hooks beach has a set of steps at the top of the beach, so that would be hard for a wheelchair to access.
