Frisbee Golf Course

Overview

Frisbee Golf is similar to golf except it is cheaper to start playing. Its also fairly hard to lose a frisbee on grass. At the Onetangi Sports Park there is a course of 18 Baskets which is spread out in a big loop around the Park.

You start on the tee off box and throw a frisbee towards the basket, frisbee golf shares some similarities to golf, you choose a different frisbee depending on the length to the basket or the gradient of the course. You might also have frisbees that arc more or less to avoid trees or objects. To finish each section in frisbee golf you must get the frisbee into the chain net to move on to to the next net.

In the gallery below it has a map of all the tee offs and baskets to complete the course. Baskets are spread out around other sport areas in Onetangi Sports park, so you could have a break half way in or just do a few baskets and head back to your car without much walking.

Because the Frisbee Golf is part of a sports park you have access to some of the shared facilities like Toilets and Showers

Access Information

Pretty much the only way to access Frisbee Golf is though the main gate entry on Obrien Road, It would almost be 500m from Obrien Road to the 1st tee off, so be aware if you are going to walk. If you are in a car/truck/bike, this only takes 30 sec or so.

The speed limit on the road to the Sports Park is 30kmph, also be carful of roosters and ducks on the road.
