Walkways

We estimate Waiheke to have over 100 walkways. Many of these walkways lead deep into the native bush, to another road or around the very edge of the rocky Waiheke coastline.

Some remote bays on Waiheke are only able to be accessed by walkway or boat. Pearl Bay and Hooks Bay are two great examples of this.

Putiki Reserve Loop Track

Putiki Reserve Loop Track is located in Surfdale off Shelly Beach Road, It is a beautiful coastal walk looping around the point of Putaki Bay and Putiki Bay.

Fourth Ave – Pah Road Walkway

Pah Road Walkway is located behind the Boat Reserve/Playground and the end of Pah Road. Its a pretty easy walkway coming down with plenty of shade.

Jacobs Ladder Walkway is located in about the middle of Onetangi beach, Between 4th Ave and 6th Ave, if this was a road it would be 5th Ave, but its way to steep.

Otakawhe to Pearl Bay Walkway

Otakawhe Bay to Pearl Bay Walkway Is in the far end of Waiheke by Orapiu and is a big drive to access it being about 30min from Oneroa by car.

Makora To Kiwi Walkway

If you are going up the walkway, you will be greeted with over 80 steps, with some nice trees and nature, just be carful to follow the yellow top markers.

Makora to Esplanade Walkway

The path has some zig zagging and some gaps between steps, plus some nice ocean views between the trees. Being only 150 metres long its only takes 1-2 min to walk.

Wharf Road Upper Walkway

Wharf Road Upper Walkway is located at the end of wharf road up a hill looking out at boats, it has some parking on the side of the road if available.
