Overview
Casita Miro is a restaurant/vineyard that is classed as Waiheke’s hidden treasure it specialises in the cuisine of Spain and the wider Mediterranean Rim.
Casita Miro is located off Seaview road scaling above Onetangi beach on a little road called Browns road. Their driveway starts off as gravel but as you get closer to the restaurant the road becomes a beautiful paved/tiled road with a mosaic art wall on your left and their large 4.2 hectare vineyard to your right.
Proud owners are Barnett and Cat and their three children. Barnett focuses on the grapes and is also the very talented mosaic artist you will find a lot of his pieces around the vineyard such as the Mosaic wall and the Bond bar. Cats main focus is the Casita Miro Restaurant which has won many awards you will also find and purchase her delicious homemade focaccia bread at many local waiheke stores such as RAW, Island grocer and more.
Casita Miro is all about shared dining and their ‘tapas’ and ‘raciones’ (large plates) are perfect for a fun, relaxed and social dining experience.
They use the finest, freshest products from their very own organic kitchen gardens and sourcing locally wherever possible.
Wine tastings and a light tapas menu are available from their cellar door everyday (weather dependent) from 11:00am til 3:00pm.
They offer a tasting flight of five Miro Vineyard wines as well as a Sherry tasting showcasing a selection of their favourite styles from Sherry houses.
Red grapes such as Syrah and Bordeaux varietals are their focus but they also grow beautiful Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Albarino and a small amount of Viognier that is grown primarily to blend with the Syrah and their highly sought after wine Madame Rouge.
Enjoy delicious mediterranean cuisine while sipping on wine and relaxing looking out at spectacular views sounds like a perfect day to me.

The best way to access Casita Miro is from Waihekes scenic road called sea view road this can be entered from Ostend or Onetangi. Casita Miro has signage at the road front directing you to their vineyard driveway on browns road. It may seem like you are going the wrong way at first but it will come out to their beautiful paved/tiled driveway and a beautiful green vineyard.

Close To Casita Miro
Onetangi Beach – Waiheke’s longest beach being over 2kms of beautiful white sand it is certainly a must visit. It is popular for surfing, swimming and just relaxing.
Tin Boat Reserve – Also known as Tin boat playground is located in Onetangi, it is unique by having a large aluminum dinghy set in the middle of the playground.
Waiheke Hostel – Waiheke Backpackers Hostel is a long running affordable accommodation on Waiheke. They have plenty of rooms and amenities. With nice ocean views.
Four Square Onetangi – Located across the road from challenge and about 300m from the beach. It is a smaller scaled supermarket that sells everything you should need.
