Overview

Take a bite is a small delightful cafe located behind waiheke specialty foods that offers delicious handmade pastries, breakfast items, light lunches and coffees.

They also offer picnics, grazing platters and bespoke caterings which can be either picked up or delivered.

Proud owners are Kim and Mathias originally from Hamburg, Germany they moved to waiheke and started their take a bite journey after Mathias mastered making the perfect dough for croissants. They started a online shop first and after a year of doing online orders and deliveries around our island and being a success. In January 2025 they opened their cafe.

Upon entering their cafe you will be greeted with a smile and excellent service, there are tables inside to relax and enjoy your pastry and coffee or you can sit outside under the umbrellas they provide.

Me and my husband popped in and got a few pastries and sat outside just before closing. After declining a offer of water we were given it anyway which is such caring service in my opinion. I love Pain au Chocolat pastries they are always my go to pastry, so i certainly had to get one the pastries were absolutely delicious we certainly will be back.

You can order anything online through their website or pop into their cafe.
