Overview

The Carpark Cafe And Bar is one of the key cafes on the Island Featuring Jens Famous pies. Pies are about $7-8, sit-down breakfasts range from $15-25. One of the most popular promo’s this cafe does is smoked fish Friday, every Friday they make smoked fish pies, they are about $1 more than typical pies, but very tasty for a smoked fish pie.

History Behind The Cafe

Jen the owner of The Carpark Cafe used to have a cafe on Tahi Road Called Schooner Cafe, so many locals were happy to hear she would be opening a new cafe with the ability to have sit down breakfasts and also be close for tradies visiting PlaceMakers to get needed supplies. They even named a roll after them.

I think one of the sit-down meals is a Melt, this is another throw back to the mushroom melt of the old days.

The best way to access The Carpark Cafe would be from either Ostend or Onetangi direction, you just pull into the main accessway for the local businesses like PlaceMakers, Carpark Cafe and Sign Maidens. They have a parking lot for about 10 cars up on the left after the storage yard. These parks are commonly full, so you might have to park on the PlaceMakers carpark on the right, The PlaceMakers carpark on the right is also suited for trucks and longer vehicles.
