Overview

Fullers is a ferry service that travels from Waiheke Island to Auckland/Devonport, They also do lots of other locations around the Haruaki Gulf But this information is just focused on the Waiheke – Auckland side.

The journey to Waiheke island or From Waiheke is a duration of 35-40 minutes one way.

Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the ticket office and children under five ride free on the Fullers ferry.

The fullers ferry has a licensed cafe and bar on board, proudly serving a range of goods, pies and toasted sandwiches , barista-made coffee, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, or you can bring your own food and non alcoholic beverages on board.

Dogs must be on a short leash at all times and only on the outside decks, Disability- assist dogs are allowed inside but owner or trainer needs to have appropriate documentation or identification. Other small household pets must be restrained in a carrier.

The fullers ferry is proudly smoke and vape free

Costs Waiheke To Auckland Return

  • $0 – Free, Ages 0-5 All Times
  • $19 Return, Ages 5-15 Off Peak
  • $27 Return, Ages 5-15 Peak
  • $44 Return, Adult, Off Peak
  • $59 Return, Adult, Peak
  • $176 Adult 10 Trip Pass Valid 1 year. (Max 4 people can use at once, buy this if you have a group of 3-4 to save $$$)
  • $0 – Free, Gold Card Holders (After 9am)

There are other costs for 40 passes and family passes, students etc, check fullers website for more info, we just tried to simplify the pages of prices into a small section.

AT Hop Card

You can also travel with a AT Hop card, prices are similar to normal tickets, just tag on to board the boat.

Off Peak Hours vs Peak

They have set it up so if you are a tourist coming over, I would say its 90% chance you will fall into the peak ticket prices, also if you buy a off peak ticket you have to wait for off peak times to come back.

Leaving Auckland – After 1pm is Off Peak (This Includes the 1pm Boat)

Leaving Waiheke – After 7pm is Off Peak (This Includes the 7pm Boat)

If you want to save money with mates, the best way would be to buy a 10 trip. You can scan 4 people on each way, Peak or Off Peak.

Family Passes could also save money.

Travel Times

Most of the time they are every hour on the hour. When it very busy in summer there will be a boat every 30min.

The last boat off Waiheke Is 12:30 am (11pm Sunday and Public holidays), so be carful if partying late.
