Overview
Hekerua Bay is a little hidden beach near by sandy bay that is only accessed by foot or via boat, at high tide from higher cliff levels you can see all the rocks and seafloor due to its clear blue water, which can make for amazing photography shots.
If walking, you can take one of several tracks – Either from Sandy Bay, from Te Aroha Ave, or Queens drive.
It is a very quiet less populated beach rather than many other beaches Waiheke has to offer, it can be perfect to have a private picnic or even just do some rock skimming.

Key Access Points
From Te Aroha Ave walkway path
Accessible from Karaka road, Te Aroha Ave is actually a leafy walking track.
From Goodwin Ave/Queens drive
Coming from Goodwin Ave at end of Queens Drive there is a sealed path called the zig-zag path, which is considerably steeper than the Te Aroha track. You will come across a bunch of letterboxes lined up at the start of this path, follow this path down to our beautiful Hekerua Bay.
Wheelchair Access
Hekerua bay is made of Pebbles/Riverstone and pathways down are very steep, so it isn’t best for wheelchair access.

Sandy bay – located on the northside of Waiheke, with its beautiful white sand and crystal blue water it is definitely a favourite place to just relax and enjoy the sun or take the kayak or paddle board out for a spin.
Enclosure bay – is a small bay sheltered/enclosed by large rocks, giving its own unique feature to Waiheke Island, it is a perfect spot to do safe snorkeling.
